If your Acer Iconia Tab is not functioning properly – for example, not responding when you press buttons or tap the tablet computer’s touch-sensitive display – it’s a good idea to do a simple hardware reset. A hardware reset consists of inserting a small object into the recessed reset button on the right side of the tablet. If the operating system is performing sluggishly, has become corrupted or is otherwise still performing poorly after you have done a hardware reset to restore button and touchscreen functionality, you will want to do a factory reset on the Iconia Tab. However, a factory reset will erase any personal information and programs that you have installed on the tablet and you will need to enter the data once again. Writer Bio

Hold down the “Volume +” button and press the “Power” button until the tablet vibrates. Release the “Power” button, but keep the “Volume +” button depressed. Acer Iconia Tab W500
Connect your Iconia Tab W500 to a power outlet. Tap “Search” from the Charms bar, type “recover” and select “Acer Recovery Management.” Select “Yes” if you see a User Account Control window. Select “Restore Factory Settings” and choose “Next.” Select “Just Remove My Files” to quickly perform the reset or “Fully Clean the Drive” to thoroughly erase your data. Both options remove data, but the latter option is more secure. Select “Reset” to begin the reset procedure. The process will take several minutes to complete. If you previously selected the Fully Clean the Drive option, the process takes considerably longer. Writer Bio
