Don’t force the netbook to shut down while Windows boots. If you have trouble entering BIOS, quickly and repeatedly press “F2” during the entire boot process to guarantee you time it correctly. You can stop pressing the key when it begins loading BIOS. Press the arrow keys to navigate within BIOS. The left and right arrow keys move between screens, and the up and down arrows move between items. To select an entry to modify, press “Enter.” Press “F10” to save your changes and exit BIOS. To exit without saving, press “Esc.” A common task is disabling the Boot Booster feature that’s designed to shorten the boot time. This feature must be disabled before changing PC components or attempting a system recovery. Move to the “Boot” tab, highlight “Boot Booster” and then press “Enter” to toggle the feature on or off. Another common task is changing boot order, so you can boot from a USB flash drive or an external DVD player. Although you can temporarily change boot order by pressing “Esc” while booting the device, you can permanently change the boot preference through the Boot Device Priority feature, located on the BIOS Boot tab.
